To finish off this Sunday, you should listen to this remix by the great San Francisco-based wünderkid Blackbird Blackbird, aka Mikey Maramag. Blackbird Blackbird + A$AP Rocky sounded like a weird combo to me, but wow, I was so wrong. This is just right! Mikey mostly produces dreamy electronica, with a touch of “indie folk dance”, like Washed Out and Caribou. And whenever I listen to this type of music, I feel like all the summer memories are just flowing back to me all at once.
I remember when I heard Blackbird Blackbird’s “Pure” for the first time back in 2010. I was totally blown away, both by the tune itself, but also by the music video that you should most definitely watch (even though you might get a seizure).

This song makes me feel like I can do anything in the world.
It’s like an injection of energy and superpowers. It’s the perfect feelgood track. I like this so much! What do I need summer for when I have a track like this? 0_o
Even in the urban wilds of Brooklyn, there may be no one else like Jean-Philip Grobler, aka St. Lucia. Originally from Johannesberg, St. Lucia grew up performing with the Drakensberg Boys Choir School. When the choir wasn’t traveling – they toured Japan, Australia, Europe and more – they stayed in an enclave tucked in the South African mountains, learning everything from Bach to minimalist opera.
Instant like. Instant lieeeek!
I love this!! I fell in love after 0.01. And that is rare, much like this song. Rare and lovely.
Kindness is a UK Indie Funk artist. This one is not that funked up, but I’m seriously liking the sound.
BROODING INDIE-ROCKERS COKE WEED TO RELEASE
SOPHOMORE LP NICE DREAMS APRIL 17TH.
Here’s some supercosy indiepindie for you this lovely Saturday morning!
Coke Weed is indeed an exotic specimen, an indie band that lays garlands at the ruins of rock and roll. This is psychedelic music with nary a trace of the blown out vocal or endless digital soup that is in vogue for this moment in time. Rather, Coke Weed lives in the essence of that perfect instance when the early hippies put down their beloved folk music and fixed their restless gaze on the possibilities of electric rock and roll.
Aaaaawh, tell me this aint quutzie? It’s good huh?
Miracle Fortress is the brainchild of Graham Van Pelt, a Montreal-based multi-instrumentalist and vocalist who in this incarnation builds wall of sound pop songs in the tradition of Brian Wilson and Brian Eno.
Check out some more from Miracle Fortress. Ok, maybe this one too:
I know this last song is an old one, but that doesn’t make it worthless, or any less relevant! I love these two so much. I do recommend you check out his new stuff though. Go to his website, or his Facebook bandpage, there are links to it below. Yes. I said below.
Stay sweet, all of you :)
Is it the perfect boat/bus/trainride song? Yes it is, it’s so mellow and sweet you just want to cuddle it. I don’t know about you guys, but when I’m on a bus or something, staring out the window, I sometimes pretend that I’m in a musicvideo. O.o
These guys are from Sweden! BOAT CLUB.
This is COOLNESS! Am I right?

Listen to this:
I love Nick Cave. He is the most brilliant man in the world. He should rule it. I mean that! And I don’t need to say anything more than that.
Yes it’s a sad day. Steve Jobs died. R.I.P genious man.
And I’m sick, so this day isn’t actually one of my favourites. But I have to say:

The things you once told me
The thoughts you once gave me
Sounded like the wind in my ears
And blows up the thoughts
I’ve got in my long brown hair
